Fabrication Engineer
Job Summary
Provide documentation, detailed instructions, drawings / layouts, or specifications to production team for fabrication of customer products.
Duties and Essential Job Functions
- Utilize AutoCAD and/or Solid Edge to create drawing files / layouts for manufacturing (.dxf, .dwg, 3D models, etc.)
- Analyze engineering sketches, specifications, related data, and drawings to determine design factors such as size, shape, and arrangement of parts
- Provide material specifications for fabrication jobs
- Develop and implement cost-saving measures
- Evaluate design changes, specifications and drawing releases with customers.
- Determine problem resolutions and implement improvements
- Maintain research and activity documentation and preparation of reports as needed
- Support production staff in every aspect, so that the final product is identical to the design blueprints.
- Utilize ERP system to create and/or modify customer parts (routing, bill of materials, file attachments, etc.) as required.
- Work with software manufacturers to update software and troubleshoot issues.
- Track individual and/or company (KPIs) / metrics. Strive for daily improvements

Academic Competencies
- Associates Degree preferred or 4-5 years of on-the-job experience
- 4-5 years’ experience using AutoCAD and/or 3D modeling software in fabrication environment preferred

- The ability to work under strict deadlines without letting the shortage of time affect the quality of work
- Experience of diagnosing and resolving design and functional issues arising in the course of a job
- Must be able to problem solve and make adjustment in CAD, and work with Solid Edge
- Must be proficient in Mathematical Skills

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Environmental Conditions
- Work is primarily performed in a general office environment with standard office equipment.
- Exposure to odor, noise, dust, heat, cold, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
- Humidity level in factory may be elevated during summer months
